General Mills: Hot Breakfast
K-12 customers and consumers were seeking hot breakfast entrees containing traditional favorite products that were easy to serve and prepare.
The Alliance K-12 Process
An insight identifying hot breakfast as an interest was shared by the Alliance Director Network at an Alliance k-12 thought leadership conference during the solutions workshop event. At future conferences a concept evaluation was conducted at the next conference to identify the most appealing hot breakfast entrees and product evaluations were held featuring sampling, surveys to capture feedback and qualitative discussion.
Alliance K-12 Solution
A student favorite product, shape and flavor - Mini Pancakes in an openable bag - was created. This process was repeated for the next 10 years and led to the creation of Mini Cinni, Frudel, Mini Waffles and many more.
